I understand that I can create an On Demand Scan task in ePO and configure the properties.

I also understand that in ePO I can configure what to scan and where using the "Default Process Policies" but this seems to only affect the On Access Scan properties and not the On Demand Scan properties I want to change.

When I go to a client machine and right-click the VS7 icon and click "On Demand Scan" the properties are not the same as the ones I configured in ePO for an On Demand Task.

So my question is how do I configure and save the On Demand Scan properties on a client machine. I could configure locally, but I don't want to touch each machine. Can this be done remotely?

- Yes, the machines I tested were inherting the properties.
- Yes, the machines I tested are talking to the ePO server.

If I'm missing something, please let me know. It's really frustrating me that I can't figure out how to configure these properties remotely.

I've noticed this, too, and I believe it is simply not showing up. The settings are in fact set on the client machines, however the appropriate checkboxes are not set. I believe (and don't quote me on this since i'm not running VSE7.1) this is a bug that they fixed in epo 3.1 and VSE 7.1.
Not really the answer that you were hoping for, but that's what I've seen happen, too.
Hope that helps,

Sven

The on-demand task you scheduled in ePO and the on-demand scan showing on the local client are two different animals. The task you scheduled is actually located under documents and settings\all users\application data\network associates\common frame\tasks. The parameters you used in ePO are in the task file.

A local on-demand task uses the installation defaults from McAfee.

Any chance you know how to configure the settings?

Via a reg key or something that I can push out to client machines?? There are some settings I would like to change from the defaults set by McAfee.

Well your in lux, this is a new feture in 7.1, the epo tasks will show on the local machine, as epo scheduled task...
