start > run > type wbemtest > press Connect > repalce "root\default" with "root\cimv2" > press "Connect" > the buttons are now all active > press "Open Class" > type win32_baseboard > press the "Instances" button > after a few seconds it should return 1 value in the box > double click on it > there are 3 boxes, in the second one is a list of properties > you have the following "fields"; "Property", "DataType" and "Data".
scroll down and find the data for the following properties and report back

I want all these properties as these are things that are basically entered as text onto the hardware indentifying chips by the manufacturer, and there are no rules governing the input, so some properties report things that aren't exactly compliant, and many dont report anything.
If you have any problems let me know.
BTW..
I am assuming you have an onboard sound card, and not a PCI one....can you confirm?
Hope this Helps.
