I have a few programs that worked great in windoz98 but either don't work in W2k or not very well (running of a time and then crashing)

These programs have no upgrade to make them work W2k but I have heard there is a way in some cases, W2k can make these programs work.

Any help would be great

Thanks

You have a substantially better chance to make them work with Windows XP. Between the native Compatability Wizard, and the Compatability Toolkit you can download free from Microsoft, you have a fighting chance if it runs poorly or not at all under Win2k.

A second possibility that I have started recommending in cases such as yours: the Microsoft Virtual PC 2004. It is very modestly priced, and I prefer it now to a dual-boot and to messing with compatability tools.

You can get a free 45-day trial here:
This lets you flip between a Win98 session and a Win2k (or NT or XP, etc) session without rebooting.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
