Hi,
I have a new computer, it came with XP home edition. I have everything set-up but I need to get my old email address' and the mail along with them into my newly installed OE on the new computer. Can this be done? I have set up the old hard drive as a slave in the new computer. I thought this would be the best way to get at the info but I have no idea what I am looking for. The old OE is the same version as the new one (I think). Version 6. I should mention there are 2 identities that I would like to keep sepatate when importing.

Search the old hard drive for *.wab (the Windows Address Book) and *.dbx (the individual mail folders) and take note of the path to these files. Be sure to include hidden files in your search.

Now that you've found the old files, use OE's import function to import them into your new installation. I think that you will have a hiccup with the identities, so you may want to create the new identities first and import into each one. Then delete what doesn't belong. Searching this forum for import identities should turn up most of the snafu's.
