MS used to have a place where one could load their service pack images so the service packs could be installed locally/offline rather then with a Internet connection. When I do a search for service packs now the only link that comes up is from their download center which is just the setup files of some 160 something K

Sorry ... in your last post all of the links are incomplete ... the update link from your 1st post has an accumulation of patches which I believe are all contained in the service packs but I didn't actually see a complete service pack here. The service packs are typically in the order of a 100+ MBs ... I already have XP SP1A thanx.

All you need to do is goto the downloads centre and select your download and on the right pane there is a link for network download, that is what you require, the 160kb download just scans your pc and proposes the download you require.

Win2k MCP

Does this mean you have to be on a Win2K Machine in order to get a service pack for that OS??? ... all my machines are on XP but my buddies machines are W2KP and not on the Internet

Hmmm ... When I went to this site yesterday, I am sure these full options were not there ... Thanx everyone for the postings ... the 3rd last posting url's do take me to a spot that allows loading the network (read complete) service pack files (regardless of OS you are running for the download process)

Thanx again
