I customize Office Shortcut Bar to give me the applications I use regularly. Give it a name. Run "Save Settings". ReBoot. The new bar is no longer there. Enter "customize" and it isn't listed under the "Toolbars" tab, but when I re-create it, if I try to use the same name I am told that the name is reserved and to enter a different name. (I have no idea where it exists and can't find it) Definition of insanity: trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results - OK, I'm insane. I love my shortcut bar on my computer at work and want to use it at home. Any ideas?

Bill and I go back almost 15 years. You'ld think I'd have learned something. Perhaps channeling my insanity to less destructive endeavors is progress.

OS is Windows XP.

Thanks for your consideration,

Wow. I've known him going on 12... :)
Describing Office as a "less destructive endeavor..."
THAT could just be the new meaning of insanity!

Ok. Sounds to me like your permissions are goofed up. Do you know anything about them?

This might be an issue for the Operating Systems forum instead of Office...

How many users on your PC?
I did have a lady on the phone once. One user (her), and she couldn't get something to work in Word. We ended up going into users in the control panel, and just giving all users all rights to everything...

ODAT!
