Office problem

I am currently running XPa on a win 2k box, FR2 SP2. I am trying to rove Office 97 on it. Is there a special way or procedure that needs to be done? Any help would be greatly apperciated!!
 
You shouldn't have to do anything special gerbieIT.
Just put the server in install mode or go to the add/remove programs.
Then highlight the Office install and then uninstall it.
Or if you are upgrading to Office XP or 2k3, it will automatically uninstall any previous versions of Office.

Oh..make sure you are logged into the box as an admin (I know you're probably already doing that but always make sure)
 
It actually went through but I still have office 97 in the programs menu. But it is not in add/remove..... Weird?
 
I've seen where you just have to go back and clean up some folders.
Usually under the programs folder and under the c:\program files folder.

Just delete them and reinstall or upgrade your office.

Also, ensure you run the appropriate Application Compatibility scripts for all your office products.
