Office AutoRecover - Terminal Server

Greetings,

We currently have three Windows 2003 Servers that are being used as terminal servers. Also, the users are automatically logged out after three hours of inactivity.

Here is the problem. Say they have an Excel spreadsheet open at the end of the day and they go home, then three hours later their session gets logged out. At that time Excel will treat that document as an AutoRecovered document ONLY if they log back on to that same server in the morning. This makes sense since Office on the server they log in to in the morning has no idea that there is a document out there that needs to be recovered.

What do I need to do to make this work right? I guess I could just install Office on one server and have shortcuts but if that server goes down they won't be able to do anything, which goes against a major reason for having multiple servers. I must be missing something.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

this may sound silly but why dont you change the session inactive time to 24 hours rather that three hours.

or don't throe them off at all. then they come back to where they were.
