Greetings all,
Before I go too far into this, are there any known issues with office 2007 running an Office 2000 version database?

Problem was, I thought, a corrupt table in the back end of an Office 2000 db.
My client has just installed Office 2007 (was running on 2000), and accesses the back end from another machines via a LAN.

When I left him last night it was working, now it's broken again. Just in case I am doing something wrong, the steps I took were:

Copy back end table structure from a known good copy, empty tables.
Import data tables from current BE db (tables appear with "1" after the name)

Using queries append data from imported tables to empty tables.
Delete imported tables.

Run and test, tested OK.

Any suggestions on anywhere else to look please?

Sorry, I should have known better.

There are no error messages.

DB is split front and back end. There are several tables, tblCustomers, tblContracts, tblMachines, tblRepairs and so on.

The problem was first spotted when a search found fewer than expected results, on investigation there was no apparent difference between the records found and those (about 60%) missed .
Rebuilding that table appeared to cure the issue.
A week later it was noticed that when new data was entered the relevant form did not display correctly, and some data in the new record was not saved - but other parts of the same record were saved.
In another issue, a report did not fill in the fields correctly.

Yesterday I rebuilt the back end (as above), tested all the errors which had been shown, and all was well.
Today I had a report that data entry was failing again.

But there are no error messages, a lot of the action is SQL coding with warnings set to False - I don't really want to wade through the code and change them, but I guess I may have to, at least I can use Ctrl+H.

Stand down.

Arrived on site this morning, and all worked satisfactorily (despite evidence in the tables of errors the previous day).

The only action which could well have sorted the issue was the computer hosting the BE db was "switched off and switched on again" with an overnight shutdown.

The only thing I can suspect is a backlog of Windows updates.
