Hello everyone I have a customer who has saved her excel spreedsheets to her favorits list. She was also was logging in as the administrator. I created her an account under her name and transfered the spreedsheets into her my documents folder. However when I try to open them it request the 2000 cd and she does not have it. I would like to know is there anything that I can do to get around this problem. Any help would be great.

"OpenOffice.org is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an open-source project. Compatible with all other major office suites (Microsoft Office), the product is free to download, use, and distribute."

The link above is to the program, Calc, which is Open Office's equivalent to Microsoft Excel.

Hi Tensore,

It looks like Excel has been installed so that it's only available to the administrator's account. This is a system issue an administrator should be able to correct via the Control Panel - if you don't know how, ask in the Win 2000 forum.

PS: Why doesn't the user have access to the install CD? Pirated copy? If so, I wouldn't touch it.

Tensore: Open Office isn't fully compatible and wouldn't necessarily solve this problem anyway.

Cheers
