Off site retreival of startalk messages 1

What am I doing wrong? Need to gain access to stored messages from off site. With 'return to AA' set to yes, I just get into a "please enter the mailbox number" loop never getting to anyware I can put in a password. With 'return to AA' set to no, I get a "exiting system, goodbye". Sure it's a simple tick box I've missed, but I'm lost.
Any help?

Version 1.3.00 - is this a record? 'twas an ebay purchase a couple of years ago, after my engineering sample (ex Nortel) HD version failed.
