I need to match our company's client list against the U.S. Government's suspected terrorist list. I'm having trouble with the "Search" and "Find" functions. Any help would be appreciated.

A little more information may help (ie what app are you using, how are the names listed, maybe a little sample data)

Sorry...

My list of Clients is in EXCEL.
A1 B1 C1
Smith Henry J.
Zucker Alice K.

The U.S. Gov list is in ASCII, so I've delimited it in excel by spaces so its
A1 B1 c1 d1 e1
ARAHMAN, Mohamad Iqbal (a.k.a. ABDURRAHMAN, Abu Jibril;

My client list is about 5,000 rows, the gov list is about 20,000 rows.

Thanks

Here is a quick way I did it:

Took customer list and in column D I did:

=A1&" "&B1&" "&C1

Combining the Name into one cell. Then copied D1 until the end of the customers.

Did the same for the terrorist names.

In column E of the terrorist sheet, I did:

=LOOKUP(E1,CustomerWorksheet!D:D)

And copied it to the end of the terrorists names. If their is a match, the name will be in column E, if not, it will be a N/A.

Hope this helps,
