OE Locks Up PC when printing e-mail

My PC (Windows 2000) locks up whenever I try to print an e-mail in Outlook Express. I upgraded both OE and IE to version 6 (as suggested to me) but still have the problem.

Have you done a virus/spyware check? Have you tried reinstalling and/or updating your print drivers? Perhaps ending task on all background processes before you print, to see if its a software conflict?

Does it lock up just when printing in OE, or in any program? Is it a local or network printer? Are you spooling or sending the job directly to the printer?

Virus checking is current. What is a spyware check? It is only OE that has this problem I'm printing directly to a local printer.

Spyware are little programs that get installed on your system, they do varying things (pop up advertisements, monitor your web activity, etc...), Spybot is a free spyware scanner...
