1. Bought a Viao from my company which was surplus to requirements
2. Came with Windows 2000
3. Running Outlook Express 6
4. Problem:
(i) Occasionally my Inbox Folder gets wiped and I get a new "Welcome" message from my ISP (Freeserve) as if I had just registered with them. If I view the Inbox.dbx file with Excel just to be able to read any text, all the messages are there but they are not displaying in OE6. The folder says in OE6 that there are no messages to display. I have NOT switched on "hide read meassages". This happens about twice a month apparently randomly
(ii) It has happened occasionally that I tranfer a read message into one of my other OE folders and when I come to read it again the whole folder appears empty as in (i) above. Yet I can read the text of the dbx file in Excel so the stuff must be there somewhere.
Why are these folders showing "empty". What's causing it? I don't have "cleanup" switched on either.
Any ideas?
thanks
Chris
