We encountered this error while trying to login directly at an S8500 server using a keyboard and monitor connected to it:

Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?

Anyone encountered this? Right now we can't ping the IP address of the server and can't access it through ASA or its web interface even though generally the PABX is working normally, that is why we tried connecting to it directly.

The only thing I can think of is the power options within the BIOS of the server. To check them you'll have to reboot the server and hit the function key need to enter the BIOS when the server is booting.

It's really strange since this is already a replacement server, and the one that it replaced experienced the same symptoms, however we never got the chance to directly connect to the server.

We tried resetting the old server, however it just restarted every time on its own from that point hence the replacement. I'm very hesitant on restarting this one again as it may be like that too.

The CM version is at 4.0.1, with security patch of 00.1.731.2- 15500
