ODBC text longer that 256 char ok in EXCEL but truncated in ACCESS

I'm using OfficeXP sp2 and have this problem:

When connecting to an ODBC DSN in access, long text are truncated.

When connecting to exactly the same DSN in EXCEL I see the truncated data in MSQUERY, but when the data is delivered to EXCEL the long fields are ok.

Conclution: ODBC DSN is ok. EXCEL is OK. ACCESS and MSQUERY is not ok.

And... I need the data in ACCESS !

If anyone is hardcore SQL expert, please tell me how to get the data into access without truncation.
Is it possible to connect to ODBC and at the same time force the field type ?

If your data is finding its way into Excel without being truncated then why not do that and then update your Access database from the data in Excel. As long as the destination for the long data is a Memo field then it won't be truncated when going from Excel to Access.

Forcing the field type is just impossible

It may be that the field type of the ODBC is not rightly understood by MSAccess. Varchar and nVarchar types are rightfully linked as memo. What is the data type of the source field ?

For eg: The datatypes like text . in SQL Server may not be rightly mapped in Access.
