I would like to use VFP6 to get data from a Progress DB. Is it possible to do with ODBC or ADO. Do I need some kind of tool from Progress Software or from a 3rd party?

Any hints for connecting with DB's (like Progress) that are less than mainstream?

Thanks,

Jacob

If the Progress DB has an ODBC driver avaible for use then just look at

SqlPassthrough

or

Remote Views
in the VFP help files

Both of these methods of accessing remote data are built into VFP6.0 but make sure you get Service Pack 5 for vfp6.0 becasue the SqlPassthrough and Remote Views have a bug in previous Service Packs

hope this helps
