Hi,
This is a MS Access/SQL Server question. I am getting an error "ODBC-Connection <database name> Failed", if I try to make a shortcut for an application which already has ODBC connection to tables in SQL Server. The user names are different on the PCs. Is it possible to connect to the SQL server, this way?

Thank You,

Rushdi Basir

It is not clear what you question is or what are you trying to accomplish here.
at a first glance on it if the user ID caused the connection failure the message would look like "ODBC-Connection <database name> Login failed for user"
May be if you could add more details to the description we could help you more AL Almeida

Hi AL,
There is an access database on one user's machine, in which has ODBC tables connected to the SQL Server. I made a shortcut on the desktop on a another users machine, and when I try to open the ODBC table, it gives an error message.

Thanks,

Are both users using the Access Database at the same time?
What is the Access versio? and what is the SQL server Version? any service pack?
What is the OS on the workstations?
any service pack?
What are the MDAC versions?
send me the full error message AL Almeida
