There is no "limit" to the number of feilds in a form. Also, you never have to ask CF to grab more RAM (That is one thing CF loves to do all by itself)
It may be possible that that exception is a hardware problem (bad ram, overworked m/c) but... it may be that you are not CFLOCK 'ing your variables?
