ODBC Beginner pointers

We're going to be developing an ODBC app in C++, and I'd prefer to write it on linux using g++. Can anyone point me to where to get files(Preferably RPM's) for ODBC connectivity, espically for Oracle and Informix. I need to set up the libraries and includes to be able to connect to these via odbc. A good tutorial or 2 would help, too!
