Octel Command Language (OCL)

Does anyone know where I can get some doc on the Octel Command Language? I don't see anything on Avaya's site.

I also have the same problem and need some documentation. I was wondering how much it would cost for the documentation you have. Also do you have the document in soft copy? Does the documentation explain how to write Octel command language commands? Any help with this would be very helpful.

so is this accessible only through the lan card setup, or through the rdac as well, or how do you initiate an ocl session ken? thanks, jeff

there are 2 ways one is with the x.25 link on the ccf card marked Synch and also with the lan card

I'm pretty sure the RDAC only gives you the menu based system. As far as I can tell the OCL interface is only accessible through the LAN. What sucks about this is that even when you telnet to the Octel on ports 4001 or 4002 you don't get anything. You are able to connect, but you don't even receive garbage onto the screen. I wrote a program that opened a RAW connection to the octel and found that if you feed it 16 or more characters it will drop the connection, possibly it's a username or password. Thats about the extent of my knowledge of OCL. It seems that it's a closely guarded secret or something.

you must also have an app id to log onto that is setup in menu 17 you add an app and password to the app number

Is App Id 255 special? On the other OCL thread, someone suggested to look at id 255. I found it interesting that our 255 just happened to have the name and password for our app there.

not unless you are using an server or PC that is already connected to the octel via lan or the x.25 synch port on the ccf card

I need anything related to adding, changing or deleting mailboxes through OCL, anything syntax related. It would also help to know what the protocol is for talking to the Octel through the OCL connection. Ken, I think you have my fax number, if you wouldn't mind that would be great. If you can't mabey you could copy the pages and we will pay to have them shipped.
