I have a strange problem. I save some Word docs on my server and they have drawing objects like arrows and circles and stuff. On one particular pc, if I open the Word doc, all the drawing objects are moved to the left side of the page, and they print that way, too. If I save it, it's that way for all users. If I don't save it, everyone else can open it and the objects are where they're supposed to be.

The only thing I can think that's different, is this pc has office 97 whereas all others have office 2000. I can't change the office 97 because of compatibility issues with other software installed on that machine. Is the different versions of office what's causing this?

If not, what can I do to fix it, if anything?

Thanks a bunch

May I strongly suggest (because I've seen it cause corruption otherwise) that whenever you create multi-object *drawings* in Word that you create them in a separate document, then select all of the objects and group them (Draw menu), and then copy/paste-special into your *real* doc as a picture. When doing this, remove the *float over text* option. In 2000, you can paste the now one-object picture, right-click and format, set the text wrap as *in line with text*.

That should set things straight.

It's little things like that that make life that much sweeter. I had no idea you could do that. Excellent. Thanks very much.
