Greetings,

I am tasked with synchronizing AD objects (OUs, users, groups, computers, etc.) between our production domain (Jacob.com) and our test domain (recovery.jacob). Yes, it's two different domains and forests. I do not know
exactly how recovery.jacob was initially created. I do know that it contains both objects from jacob.com as well as unique objects that need to remain.

I have researched using ntbackup and restore to transfer the system state between the domains, but it does not
seem to allow for doing this between different forests. I have tried using dcpromo /adv on a member server in recovery.jacob to read files from the system state backup of jacobs.com. The backup was done from the FSMO.

I found one article on creating a test domain which details creating an exact copy of the production domain, but this does not cover my circumstances. c500186/c222c1328ca9c646?lnk=st&q=synchronize+active+directory+test+domains&rnum=4&hl=en#c222c1328ca9c646

We are running a mix of Windows 2000 and 2003 DCs. Any help would really be appreciated.

Regards,
Rick Virene
