NW 6.x to 7.2 upgrade - need Prof. Services?

our Manager received an E-mail indicated we should have a professional services to help the upgrade of NW 6.x to 7.2 because it is a major upgrade and he has listed some of the clients did so.

My question, has anyone upgraded from NW 6.1.2 to 7.2 without the Prof. Serv.?

I bet than 90+ % of all customers will update without PS. And there is no need to do this, except for very big complex installations where a lot of different issues need to be considered. But for a 'standard' installation, i do not see a necessity.

Should be ok, we do it all the time, in fact in the one case we did have prof. services in they messed it up big time !!!

Just ensure you backup first ...
