Hello,
I have a database in access97. I would like to be able to keep track of the order the employees were in at the end of the year in my OverTime List. This list is used to place the order the employees will be in next year if two employees have the same hours. Meaning. If joe worked more hours than bob last year and they both have the same hours this year ,the one with the lowest hours, Last year, would be place above the other person on the Force list if no one volanteered.
I know you will say just go by OT hours , but the list always refers to the year before and what if both employees had the same hours that year.
If i can record the order it would be alot easier. i have a field in my Employee table called OrderLastYear.

Thanks In Advance.

Why don't you make a new field called "OrderThisYear"
then put a number in next to each employee so the one with the most hours is number one and so forth.
Then sort by that new field.
Then you won't have to mess with their ID.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.
