We are running a G3r with CM 1.3 software with two TN2501AP VAL boards.

When using the command "display integrated-ann-boards" there is a column titled Number of Recordings. This number is much higher than the announcement extensions built on the board.

For example, I have 141 announcement extensions built on board 02B11 (practically all are recorded) but when I "display integrated-ann-boards" it says that there are 395 recordings on this board.

What is the difference in "recordings" vs "announcement extensions" and how does this affect the total number of announcements allowed in the system?

You may not be seeing all of your recordings. If you do a 'display announcement' it will show you 1-256, but if you do 'display announcement 257' it will then show you the next series.

Your total number of announcements on a CM 1.3 I believe is like 1000 (don't quote me on this) and it's more a matter of time on your boards. If you have 2 VAL's with the enhanced time turned on, you have 2 hours of recordings.

I already displayed all the announcements through 1000 and nothing else is listed. There is a total of 217 annoucements shown on the two boards with approximately 40 minutes of recording time left. We are getting ready to add a number of auto attendants with quite a few announcements plus are considering purchasing another VAL board. I just need to be sure that the higher number is the display integrated-ann-boards is not going to be a problem when we begin recording the additional announcements.

My guess would be that you have wav files on the VAL board that are not administered yet/anymore. Use your VAL Manager tool to see if this is the case. Files indicated with AF are administered and present at the board, files marked with F are on the board but not administered.

Good chance you will see the 141 announcements of board 02B11 marked AF, and a total of 254 (395 minus 141) marked F... If this is the case you'll have some "cleaning" work to do.

Where in VAL Manager do I find the files wher the A or AF appears? I do not find anything like this in my VAL Manager tables.

I'm very good with val manager, cleaning off extra wav files F etc, but I still see the same symptoms you see even with all announcements as AF. 150 recorded but 609 shown on "display integrated".

Is that the a ext. count or the recorded KB used total? I don't have the VAN Manager in fromt of me but I think that is KB used.

The column heading is number of recordings. I have not been able to find an explanation of that. It would be a much higher number if it was KB used because one recording alone is larger than just one the number of recordings for one board.
