How do you get the num lock to stay on when logging on each time in windows 2000 Please

Launch Regedit and go to -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard

InitialKeyboardIndicators: REG_SZ: NUMBER

Default: 0

A 0 (zero) value will tuen the numlock off.
A 2 value will turn the numlock on after login in.

also...

Log on to NT, turn NumLock on. Press ALT+CTRL+DEL and click on the Log off button. Your NumLock should now be always on when you start your PC.

It should remember the last state it was in on shutdown.

Check your BIOS too. A lot of them have options to enable or disable NUM Lock at boot.

Cheers,
Glenn.

I asked this question through brighteyes.
Thanks for the responses.

What worked!
1. Seting the numlock on within my profile and then alt Ctrl delete log out. That set the numlock on for my profile.
2. From the login screen I then set the mumlock on and the used alt/ctrl/delete - shutdown.

When the computer restarted the numlock stayed on.

Thank you.[2thumbsup]
