ntvdm.exe - opening when VFP7.0 app starts

Hi all -
Got a problem when my app runs, it also opens up ntvdm.exe an iconizes itself on the taskbar with c:\?????????? as the icon name.
This is new and I have now clue as to why it would be happening all of a sudden.
I looked in the tasklist and it was running twice. I killed the processes and it allowed me to do so.
What can I do to prevent this ntvdm.exe from running every time?

Which version of FoxPro are you running? it seems like it is 16bit. maybe that's why.

hey teknoSDS-
nope. it's a Visual Foxpro 7.0 exe I am running. I rebuilt the executable and ran side by side and the newest built doesn't do it - so I guess I should just replace the .exe this eve-
would like to know why this happened though.

Do you have a stray '!' laying around somewhere that's trying to shell to DOS maybe?

Hi Dave-
Not sure what you mean by laying around- but did notice that it only happens on Win2000 machines. Maybe I should post in that forum? Not sure what to do.

What I mean by 'stray' is, do you have any code that maybe does a run command or ! command. For instance, checking for the existance of a directory or file:

!dir *.tmp
-or-
!del *.tmp
