Howdy all...just wondering what script command I use to sync my domain workstations to our NTP server...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Tim

not really a vbscript question that one, but dont want to be negative so.. there is no wsh or vbscript object that i know of which will natively do it for you, so you have to find out from perhaps the Windows forum what the command line will be then perhaps chuck it in a .bat file or run it using Shell.Run

In a console window type:
net help time

Hope This Helps, PH.

Your Domain Controller should be taking care of this.

If for any reason you have machines not synching with the DC then check what server they are using.

You can set them to use your internal server:

net time /setsntp:servername

Also if you are having problems, ensure that UDP port 123 is not being blocked as that is the port used for Time Sync.

I hope you find this post helpful.

And to add more to what Mark says, the server holding the PDC emulator FSMO role is the server that's responsible for keeping time in your domain. That's the server that needs to be configured to sync to a time source. All of the other machines on your domain will look to your PDCe box for time automatically.
