Do you have a crash dump file to work with?

no i have it set not to ...i will set it to log but which of the 3 do you recommend to use, small, kernal or use the complete? i am sure the problem hasnt been fixed and it will be sure to do it again tonight.

it crashed again and i set it to log the dump...where to i find the .dmp file now?? i am guessing that is what you ment when you asked me for a crash dump file

Crash dump files cannot be opened (readable anyhow) by any builtin tools. You will need a copy of WinDebug from microsoft.com set up properly to read the kernel error.

The dump files are located at %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP by default.

If you need assistance with the debug file, let me know.

thank you netintruder i will look for the windebug and let you know ...thanks again for all your help...

no sweat. One word of advice on WinDebug. Read the help file on Microsoft.com and point your symbols directory directly at microsoft.... works much smoother.
