For some reason over the weekend, our computer rebooted (virus related I'm sure). And now NT LM Security Service Provider is no longer in Services. Which means DNS, WINS, and other programs dependant on this service no longer works. I have updated the virus definitions list, scanned the computer in safe mode (we have Symantec), and it found nothing. I even ran some Trojan hunter software and it found nothing as well. I went through the registry, and everything except for one service was ok (mcomfix.exe)..
I don't know what else to do.. we can't get on the internet and we can't get email. I'm only able to because I have a computer off the network.. Can I re-install this service? Is there some other fix? I have dug through Knowledge Base, and came up with nothing..
HELP!

Have you backed up your system state lately. Try to restore the system state.

Paul

Restoring the system didn't help. NT LM is still missing and DNS still is not working.

Anyways of reinstalling this program? I heard I could try to reinstall RPC.. but I wanted to get a definitive on that. Thanks.
