I am trying to perform a simple backup using NTBackup to troubleshoot a problem that I am having with Ultrabac. To the best of my knowledge, I am running Exchange 2000 SP2. I'm not sure because I can't find any articles that tell me how to determine this. I just looked at the version of Store.exe.
According to the Microsoft instructions, I am supposed to select the server I want to backup under the "Exchange Server" node. I have a "Microsoft Exchange" node and a "Microsoft Exchange Server" node.
When I try to expand the "Microsoft Exchange" node, I get a message prompt with the title "Remote Storage" asking me to type in the name of the server. After I type in the network name of my exchange server, there is a pause and then no servers are listed.
Under the "Microsoft Exchange Server" node, my server is listed but I can't select it directly like the instructions say. I have to expand that server and select the Information Store node that is below it.
Is there supposed to be a list of servers under the Microsoft Exchange node?
Is it normal to get a prompt asking for the name of the server?
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue if it is not normal?
Thank you for your help!
