NTBackup and LTO2

Is it possible to drive an LTO1 or 2 drive on W2K just using ntbackup ? If so, are there any MS drivers yet, or must one use the drive manufacturers drivers ?

Yes you can drive the LTO drives using NTBackup. Just obtain the win drivers from the manufacturer. I doubt however that you will be utilizing the full potential (speed) of the drive.

I did some tests with LTO1 on a well spec'd server, and found it could feed the LTO1 drive at the optimum speed, but I have no LTO2 yet to trial - however, I suspect you're right about the performance. Thanks for the reply.
