Hi,

Just want to ask how many NT8D09 can a single NTAK03 serve on one system.

Thanks

would help if you posted the common name's and the system type, if memory is correct, (they don't let me bring my 81 home) max ports is 10k on a 81 of course you can't have all station cards, dtr's etc take space 16 cards per loop, 8 loops per network, 5 networks per system.. and that number is increased with fugi tech.. a 11 was limited to 5 cabs at one time (50 cards) but i believe that is up now as well

Nortel's published line capacities:
81- 16000
61- 2000
11- 900

Hi,

Is it okay to have 1 NTAK03 (TDS/DTR) for an option11 with 6 Analog Line Cards (NT8D09) and 3 DTI/PRI (NTAK09)?

Problems encountered are:

1. Some of the NT8D09 ports are experiencing no dialtone during simultaneous calls.

2. Calls are being cut sometimes.

3. Prompts from foreign telco (via DTI/PRI cards) are intermittent.

4. Delayed dialtone.

do we have to add another NTAK03 (TDS/DTR) or a memory module?

Thank you very much,

Pedro Penduko

As far as DTR's Nortel provisions 8 ports for every 1100 analog sets assuming normal traffic and P.01 grade of service.

Everything you mentioned points to you having heavy traffic, or a bad card except for the calls dropping at times. Cheapest way to go would be to add another card. If your still having problems, take the existing card out and see if you still have the same problem. Beyond that, you are looking at a controller card.

Hope that helps,

Jim

i would build a short script (procomm) to do a stat on the dtr and watch it during heavy traffic, another point is to test your dtr card..

procmain

loop:
stat x
waitquite 5
goto loop

end proc

Hi,

Thanks for the big help, I checked the DTR and 7 of the 8 ports are on busy state after simultaneous calls. They remain on busy state even after calls are ended. We ordered another NTAK03 so I could perform the solution you mentioned above. Thank you very much.

Pedro

They should not be busy during the call they are only used for Dial Tone & dialing on analog sets. Once you have dialed the number the port should be avalible for the next call.

If the system is an option 11C (NTDK20 processor) you can have up to 16 DTRs on TN 000 0 00 00 to 000 0 00 15.

no that's a dual density card, only goes to 8 ports
