Nt4 / XP?

Im not sure if this is an XP or NT4 question but here goes.

Our purchasing VP just bought about 6 emachines with XP home edition. In setting up the machine for our network, not one asked me for an administrative ID to join our Domain.

Is this normal? or Is this an XP or NT4 issue?

I have never used XP home, but from what I have heard I always thought that it couldn't join a domain

Is for Home Use, it dosn't do security its not supposed to be logging in to a domain etc.

So basically this was a dumb idea on his part?

it is a mistake, XP Home Edition cannot join a domain.

Wait but get a message that says "welcome to the so and so Domain"... it just doesnt ask for my administrator id.
