My network setup:
Lab#1 -- Windows XP Professional clients
Lab#2 -- Windows 2000 Professional clients
Lab#3 -- Windows NT4 clients
Server: Windows 2003
Profiles: Roaming Profiles used
My Problem:
When a user logs on to W2K and WinXP clients, the roaming profiles load very fast (I've set up group policies to ensure they don't 'bloat').
When a user logs on to Lab #3 (NT4 clients), they log on quickly, but when they log back on to Lab#2 or Lab#1, it takes about 5 minutes to load up their profile (the issue is worse if a number try at the same time).
I believe the profile information is stored differently for W2K/WinXP and NT4. I've checked the UserEnvDebugLevel debug log, and found that the XP client basically rebuilds the profile after a NT4 log on.
Any tips for speeding up the load times of the roaming profiles?
Thanks in advance for any input...
