Running Full backup nightly on small business server for a small company. Backup gets to the verify stage and indicates that there was not a timely response from scsi id 0. Customer clicks ok and continues with verify. Travan tapes are new and Drive has been recently replaced. Tape storage has more than enough space to hold the backup. SP6 applied. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Have you ran a chkdsk on the server drives? What backup software are you running? Is there any backup software patches that have not been installed? Have you check for new driver and firmware release for the drive?

Chkdsk done on all drives, using NT4 native backup and firmware up to date. The root partition is small and less that 180 MB free space left on C:. Everything works fine except for this annoying problem. Event log says a timeout occurred writing to hd0 on scsi id 0 which may point to a failing disk. Thanks for your help Gladys.
