Hello,

I am having a huge problem getting a Windows NT Workstation to browse the shared folders on a Windows 2000 server.
But it can browse the shared folders on the PDC. which is also a windows 2000 server.

I have tried mapping a drive, and the path is not found, I have played/changed the DNS/Wins settings for two days, and it still won't browse.

I can see the NT workstation on the PDC (active directory), it knows the NT workstations operating system, I can also see the computer in WINS, with an IP adress.

I setup the NT workstation machines to look at the primary wins server, and also dns server settings for the Windows 2000 PDC, but still cannot browse one member server.

The NT workstation machine also, logs onto the domain OK, and everything else works fine, im just missing out on browsing this member server.

All other XP clients on the network work OK, after I have set the WINS to point to the PDC which is running the WINS.

Can anyone help or advise me please.

Many Thanks
Phil

Have you tried pinging the IP addresses each of the machines that are having trouble communicating?
