NT Challenge/Response - Page Cannot Display error.

Hello,

Question using IIS 4.0 on NT Server 4.0 (SP6a)

I am setting up a site using NT Challenge Repsonse (NTCR)authentication.

When only NTCR is set for the site's virtual directory,
the following error occurs when one attempts to access it:

"Page cannot be displayed...Cannot find server or DNS error"

However, when Anonymous User or Basic NT Authentication is set, the site can be accessed just fine.

Permissions for all files and folders appear to be correct.

Any recommendations?

After further investigation of the problem, we noticed that we are running MMC 1.1. We have no problems running NT Challenge Response authentication with MMC 1.0 on other machines. Our solution appears to be to move back to MMC 1.0.

Are there any issues with MMC 1.1 and NT Challenge Response authentication?
