All,

I have a problem. I am in an office that connects over a WAN to a PDC. The BDCs here are somewhat funny, in that something seems wrong with them except I am not really a network admin and i am having trouble. Where would I look to see why Domain Users cannot logon to the network but admins can. I looked at the allow network users to logon setting in the user account rights for the domain and it has Domain Users listed. Is there anywhere else I can check to see why this is happening. Also the client machines are Win98 (not sure if this matters). TIA!!!!

George

You may want to check your licensing on the server. If your licenses are setup correctly it will not allow users to logon. However, licensing never stops admins from logging on. You should also check the event viewer for errors that might apply to your problem.

Domain User is a global user, Admin is a local user. Since you can log on to your local network but not globally, you might be having some sort of connectivity problem

Is this a user trying to log on the to actual server as opposed to a workstation?

There is a logon interativly setting somwhere which I can't remember which stops users loging into the server as it is not normally good pratice!
