Nslookup can't find server name for IP address non-existent domain

When I invoke nslookup, I get the message:

Can't find server name for address w.x.y.z: Non-existent domain
****Default servers are not available
Default Server: UnKnown

Naturally, this is a DNS-related issue. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
 
Make sure the primary DNS server is set up correctly in tcpip properties...
 
Download netdiag.exe and run netdiag/fix from there post the result.
 
What I meant was to make sure the server is pointing to itself as Primary DNS server if it is a DNS server. In the tcp/ip properties. If it is not a dns server then point to the correct one.....
