Hi all,

I am configuring a solution for one of my customer. The customer is going for NS600 and has a last minuite hurdle. The customer wanted to have single 3TB usable capacity and single 3TB filesystem on the nas and must given access to 6-hosts connected to the NS600.

I need a clarification on whether the windows 2000 hosts can see complete 3TB volume over network as cifs shares? If yes, what is the maximum filesystem support on Windows 2000/NTFS?

I believe the max size windows can see is 2TB.

Incase of NAS, the filesystem is being handled by the NAS head. Only the shared folder will be available to the Windows hosts. I believe windows host doesn't play any role in terms of handling the filesystem hence there is no question of max size. please clarify if windows plays any role??
