Hi

Does anyone try to set up Alternate NRS on a follower SigServ in the same node ?

That was not possible to set up with rls 4.0 but possible with 4.50.25. I just test it to day. Then remove TLAN of Leader SS. Sets registered on Leader re-registered on follower. VTRK restart on follower but NRS function does work.

With rls 4.50.75, it seems that it's not possible to set up anymore in the same node.

Any experience on NRS backup welcome

Hi,

yes I did. Than I started reading the NTP's, and found that NRS function does only work on SigServers with LEADER function.

Why it is selectable? No idea, it's just stupid.

Anyway I did setup two NRS with no other function available.

Thx SL1User

So here is my architecture:
CS1000E with 2 SS : 1 SS is Leader and Primary NRS. 1 SS is follower
CS1000T with 2 SS : 1 SS is Leader and Primary NRS. 1 SS is follower

Do you think it's possible to have Alternate NRS of the 1000E on the Leader SS in 1000T ? That SS leader in 1000T already have NRS for routing calls from 1000T to 1000E.

I guess it's not possible, cause i may have 2 NRS on the same SS.

The solution may be to have an additionnal SS for NRS function only and that will be Primary. Then SS Leader of 1000E could be the alternate NRS.

Do you think a correct concept ?

If they are not the same version. They will not update each others tables automatically. You can use them as Primary Alternate but they will not update each others database. So it is only as good as your programming on each NRS.

Guys,

It's possible to have the NRS Alternate on the Follower Sigserv in the same node:

First, in Element manager, GW config tab, define the IP@ of the Alternate which is SS Follower
Then, choose Network Routing Service (NRS) tab. Here display the IP@ Primary NRS.

CHANGE THAT IP@ WITH THE FOLLOWER SS ONE,

and choose Next button. The NRS window opens on the Follower SS. Here in Home tab, NRS Server Settings you have to enter the Host name of the Node (same as Primary NRS), Primary and Alternate NRS IP@.

That's enable the possibility of NRS Alternate on that SS.
Then 2 choice: After the default 24h, the database will be replicated from Primary NRS to Alternate, or, from Primary make a backup in Tool tab, and from Alternate make a restore.

At this point, your Alternate NRS is ready to be activated if Primary fall down. You can test it by removing TLAN ethernet cable on Primary NRS.

I did it with Rls 4.50.25 and 4.50.75

Good luck
