You may have tried this already, but if you login, goto the Local area connection properties and look at the properties of the Novell Client. Select the Client Tab and enter the server and tree information on this window. If the information is already there, there may be a setting in the Advanced login, Advanced Settings or Advanced Menu settings tabs which need to be adjusted. Compare them to the settings of a Novell Client not experiencing this problem.
Right click on the red N and pick Novell Properties. Click the Location Profiles tab. Highlight the Default profile and click Properties. Click Properties again. Make sure the "Save profile after successful login" box is checked. You can also edit the NDS info here.
