I run Novell 5 servers using WinXP clients. I am merging 2 sites together and would like the clients moved to login to the correct server when they move in. On the same token I need to make sure the clients currently in place connects to the correct server when another server is introduced into the site.

Is there a file I can centrally edit on a PC which holds the choices/conmfiguration in the location profiles? Or is it a registry entry?

Hi, you're a little unclear in what you intend to do here. Are you merging 2 novell trees together or simply moving another server to your location and want to add it to your exisiting network as another server ? If you are not changing your exisiting tree your current users will need no changes for them to login properly. The info I think you were ferering to is kept in the Novell client properties on the PC.

SLP is your friend. Configured properly, you clients don't login to a server, they login to the tree and are handed the addresses of the boxes running the services they need. Solves all sorts of WAN problems too.
