Ok.. Let me see if I can explain what I'm trying to do. Hopefully I can make it clear enough.

We have recently been rolling out Windows XP and we are going from a Windows 98 environment. We also use Novell Servers to authenticate our users.

What I would like to do is have the Novell screen pop up for log in and then have it automatically go into one "default" local user account. I would however like the local user account to invisible to the end user. I.e. I don't want another windows login to pop up because the password for their Novell account is not the same as their local user account. Even if I leave the local user account blank, it is still going to pop up.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to take security back to to the Windows 98 age? :D

Thanks

Josh

This might help...I don't have a Novell server to test it out on....scroll down to manual login for Novell and autologin for windows...it's all dependent on the version of the Novell client you're using:

The Ultimate AutoAdminLogon Document for Novell Clients for Windows NT/2000/XP

That is a good reference. But, do you have Zenworks? There is a feature that will create a local account upon the Novell login, and then delete it again upon logoff. That could work also.

Thanks so much for the help

Josh

PS.. No Zenworks here yet..
