We have a client with MS Word 2003 and MS Word 2000 on Novell SBS 5.x. (I am also posting this in the MS Office forum)
When the MS Word 2003 machine opens and amends a file, even if it saved with a new name we get the message:
==================
) Word Experienced an error trying to open the file:
Try these suggestions:
Check file permission for document or drive
Make sure there is sufficient memory
Open file with text recovery converter
==============================================
There is sufficient memory. Something is not set correctly or there is a problem with word that is not allowing him to access the files in question. (example: sgsrpdk.doc)
One suggestion on the help menu said that the system that opened the file may not have released it or it may still be locked by the opening application.
