Notepad error

When I doubleclick on a .txt document, notepad does open it but I also get the following error: Cannot find the file "path of the file" (or one of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available. As far as I can tell, this is a problem only with notepad.

Although I have not seen this issue, I have read of others having the same issue. All of the help on this problem suggests doing the following. Give it a try!

For windows 2000:

Double click on 'My Computer'

On the menu at the top (File, edit, view, etc) select Tools, Folder Options, click the File Types tab, scroll down to TXT extension, highlight it.

Next, click the Advanced button. In the Action window, make sure that you select 'open'. Click on the edit button on the left.

The next window that opens will have a check box at the bottom that says "Use DDE". If this is checked, then uncheck it. Click ok, ok, and ok.

Test it and post back!
