My notebook computer does not boot up again since yesterday.
It says the system was prematurely shut down last time, try normal start.

I have tried all four options given by the notebook nothing works. I have also misplaced the rescue CD that came with it.

Anyone has a solution get it working again?

Do you mean it just restarts - so in a loop?

If its running XP SP2, press F8 during start up to get full safe mode menu. Select disable restart or error. This should make it display BSOD with hopefully some useful info about the problem.

Most likely a data corruption - either registry hive or boot sector - but it might be more serious - like hard drive failure.

If its XP you will need an install Cd to get into recovery console or something like a BartPE Cd to access the drive 'externally' - or load the drive in an external enclousure or connect to PC. Probably need to run chkdsk and possibly to replace registry hives with a backup set from system restore archive (system volume information).

IF Vista, install DVD to try its repair option.
