Hi,

I am trying to print a pdf and it comes out in squares instead of text. I'm not sure if this is a printer issue or software. I'm using acrobat 5.0 distiller/writer.

Thanks..Russ

Open Acrobat and go to File > Document Properties > Fonts (I use version 6 so the menu may be different). See if the fonts are embedded or not.

Hi,

I just downloaded a copy of 6.0. I opened the pdf, went to doc props and fonts. It shows the fonts but I can't tell if there embedded. Is there a way to turn this option on or off so I can test both ways?

Thanks..Russ

What kind of printer are you using?
I would try a different printer driver. I would also try printing it from a different workstation and printer. Try to isolate where the problem originates.
It's usually software related more so than hardware.
Hope this helps.

You might also try changing the Language Level in Adobe before printing. I think the default is two. We have a document at work that will only print in level 3. The setting is under postscript options...

Thanks to all for the help. For now I rebooted and it worked. I will delv into it more with your suggestions later.

Thanks..Russ
